Step 1: Check whether you can hide the button

Tap the icon, open the profile at the top of the chat, then choose Notifications > Mute > Always (Android Authority). To archive, long-press the chat on Android or swipe left on iPhone. Under Settings > Chats, “Keep chats archived” stops it from popping back up. The icon itself stays. What happens to the chat after you archive or mute it can differ by app version, so check your own chat list.
Step 4: Watch the search bar
Meta AI also lives in the search bar. If you type questions instead of keywords there, you end up talking to the assistant. Search by name or keyword, or pin important chats to the top.
